Applying Gift Cards at Checkout After Sunset
Your gift card info (typically a gift card number and/or PIN) was sent to your email address connected to your PayPal Honey account and is available on the Purchases Page until December 31, 2023. If you're not planning on using your gift card before December 31, 2023, we highly recommend jotting down these numbers and keeping them somewhere safe. When you’re ready to check out, simply follow the store’s instructions for paying with a gift card. Keep in mind, you’ll need to manually enter your gift card information.
Do I have to use my gift card before Gift Card Deals is sunset?
No! You can use it at any time. Just use the card details provided in your email confirmation or the Purchase Page (available until December 31, 2023) when checking out on the merchant’s site.
Do I also need to enter my credit card information on the merchant’s checkout page?
You’ll need to choose the pay with gift card option at checkout. The store may ask you to enter the gift card number and PIN. Keep in mind, some merchants may also ask you to choose an additional payment method (like a credit card or PayPal)if your gift card doesn’t cover the full purchase amount.
Can I still redeem PayPal Rewards for gift cards?
Yes. Once you've earned enough PayPal Rewards points, you can redeem them for an e-gift card from the Redemption Page! While you're there, you can check out our list of currently available gift cards for redemption. You can learn more about redeeming PayPal Rewards points for gift cards here.
What are some of the other ways to save money with PayPal Honey?
- PayPal Rewards: You can earn PayPal Rewards points toward cash back on your eligible purchases. When you shop at participating stores with the Honey browser extension, you can get a chance to earn points on your purchase.
- Automatic coupon searches: We’ll look for some of the best deals on the internet when you download our free browser extension. One-click and Honey automatically searches for and tests available coupon codes at checkout. Redemptions may require an account with PayPal in good standing.
Can I have a refund for my Gift Card Deals?
Our Gift Card Deals are non-refundable, which means we can’t cancel the gift card or issue a refund to your original payment method. However, items purchased with the gift card can be returned or exchanged directly with the merchant in accordance with the merchant’s return policy.
What if a gift card doesn’t work when I apply it at the merchant's checkout?
First, double-check to make sure the gift card details are entered correctly. Then, check for any exclusions on using gift cards on the merchant’s site. If there is still no luck, we recommend reaching out to the merchant’s customer support team - they should be able to help apply that gift card to your order.

Merchandise Returns and Exchanges
These are handled in the same way as any other online purchase. To initiate a return, simply refer to the merchant’s return policy and follow their instructions.
Where does the credit go after I complete my return?
Any refunds issued by the merchant will be given according to the merchant’s specific return policy. For example, credit could be issued back to the original gift card, in the form of a new merchant gift card, or as store credit.
How do I check the balance of my gift card?
Most merchants have a tool on their website that helps you check your balance. You’ll most likely need to enter your gift card number and PIN which you can find on the Purchase Page until December 31, 2023. Visit the merchant’s site to learn more about your options for checking your balance.
